Joe Biden - 2020 Dem's Presidential Candidate? 5/12/19

Biden Attempts To Walk Back China’s ‘Not Competition’ Remarks

Last Wednesday, while campaigning in Iowa, Biden argued that China, the world’s second-largest economy, was “not competition” for the United States. “China is going to eat our lunch? Come on, man,” Biden said. “They can’t even figure out how to deal with the fact that they have this great division between the China Sea and the mountains in the east, I mean in the west.”

Joe Biden on Saturday clarified remarks he made about China not being an economic threat to the U.S. last week.

“I don’t suggest China is not a problem. I’m the guy who’s been the toughest on – I’ve spent more time with Xi Jinping than anybody else, just because the nature of my job,” Biden said

Biden condemns 'white man's culture' as he laments role in Anita Hill hearings

Biden, a possible presidential candidate, who often highlights his white working-class roots, said Hill, who is African American, should not have been forced to face a panel of “a bunch of white guys.  “To this day I regret I couldn’t come up with a way to give her the kind of hearing she deserved,”

Joe Biden's Five Most Comical / Cringeworthy Comments on Guns

"If you want to protect yourself, get a double-barrel shotgun," Biden said in an interview with Parents Magazine back in February. "You don't need an AR-15. It's harder to aim, it's harder to use, and in fact, you don't need 30 rounds to protect yourself. Buy a shotgun. Buy a shotgun."

"Well, you know, my shotgun will do better for you than your AR-15, because you want to keep someone away from your house, just fire the shotgun through the door." Most people can handle a shotgun a hell of a lot better than they can a semi-automatic weapon in terms of both their aim and in terms of their ability to deter people coming. We can argue whether that's true or not, but it is no argument that, for example, a shotgun could do the same job of protecting you. Now, granted, you can come back and say, "Well, a machine gun could do a better job of protecting me." No one's arguing we should make machine guns legal."

"Kinda scary man, the black helicopter crowd is really upset," Biden noted during a recent speech. "No way that Uncle Sam can go find out whether you own a gun because we're about to really take away all your rights and you're not going to be able to defend yourself and we're going to swoop down with Special Forces folks and gather up every gun in America. It's bizarre. But that's what's being sold out there."

"There is a whole new sort of group of individuals now…that never hunt at all. But they own guns for one of two reasons - self-protection, or they just like the feel of that AR-15 at the range," he said. "They like the way it feels. It's like driving a Ferrari, you know."

"You know, they make fun of my saying about use a shotgun if someone's invading your home - guess what, use a shotgun on someone invading your home and you don't kill your kids - use an AR-15, it goes through your wall and it can kill your kid in the bedroom"

Joe Biden's 2020 Ukrainian nightmare: A closed probe is revived

In his own words, with video cameras rolling, Biden described how he threatened Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko in March 2016 that the Obama administration would pull $1 billion in U.S. loan guarantees, sending the former Soviet republic toward insolvency, if it didn’t immediately fire Prosecutor General Viktor Shokin.

“I said, ‘You’re not getting the billion.’ I’m going to be leaving here in, I think it was about six hours. I looked at them and said: ‘I’m leaving in six hours. If the prosecutor is not fired, you’re not getting the money,’” Biden recalled telling Poroshenko.

“Well, son of a bitch, he got fired. And they put in place someone who was solid at the time,” Biden told the Council on Foreign Relations event, insisting that President Obama was in on the threat.

‘Deal breaker!’ AOC blasts Biden’s climate change stance as ‘lack of leadership’

Biden’s climate change policy is aimed to appeal to environmentalists and blue collar voters who supported President Donald Trump in 2016, two of the Democratic candidate’s campaign advisers told Reuters.

It appears that if elected to the White House, Biden intends to undo a number of Trump policies, like pulling out of the Paris climate agreement, but doesn’t seem to plan on going much further, which makes his policy unlikely to be enough to appease those concerned about climate disaster.

 Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez tweeted:

This is a dealbreaker.

There is no “middle ground” w/ climate denial & delay.

Blaming “blue collar” Americans as the main opponents to bold climate policy is gas lobbyist 101.

We’re not going to solve the climate crisis w/ this lack of leadership. Our kids’ lives are at stake.

Joe Biden: Grandson Asked Him About Internet Meme Accusing Him of Molesting a Child

Vice President Joe Biden said his grandson asked him recently about an internet meme of him molesting a child at his son’s funeral.

“‘Pop, you have to run pop,” Biden said, claiming that his grandson Hunter asked him about a photo of the Vice President clutching him at his son Beau Biden’s funeral.

“Pop it says: ‘Look at Biden molesting a kid,” Biden recalled about the meme, quoting his grandson

“Pop I know it’s going to be mean, they’re going to say bad things about daddy,” Biden continued, saying that he was quoting his grandson. “Mommy and Daddy had a divorce and they’re going to really go after that.”

Biden elicited sympathy from the crowd as he related the story.

South Carolina residents gave former Vice President Joseph R. Biden Jr. a front-runner’s welcome Saturday afternoon.

“We want Joe!” the crowd chanted, before Mr. Biden took the stage at a small community center gymnasium.

“You’re going to be seeing a lot of me,” Mr. Biden told the crowd of 700. “Folks, above all else, we must defeat Donald Trump.”

Mr. Biden has forged deep relationships in the South throughout his decades-long political career and arrived at the Hyatt Park gymnasium to whoops and cheers

Mr. Biden expressed regret for the crime and criminal justice legislation he championed in the early 1990s, saying it resulted in unequal sentencing and burdened black communities.

Mr. Biden said he was not intimidated by the president’s penchant for calling his political enemies by nicknames. He joked that if he were the Democratic nominee, he might respond in kind.

“There’s so many nicknames I’m inclined to give this guy,” Biden said to laughter in the room. “You can just start with clown.”

Previously, Mr. Biden apologized for saying he would “beat the hell out of” Mr. Trump if they both were in high school.

Mr. Biden said. “I don’t want to get down to that level. The presidency is an office that requires some dignity. “

Former vice president and current presidential candidate Joe Biden said during a campaign stop in California on May 8 that the United States has an “obligation” to give free health care to illegal aliens.
